I have just started the PS course and have very limited knowledge on underground radiowave propagation on tunnels. I have a question about the optimal cable type to be used for this scenario. Could a 7/8″ radiating cable be able to carry TETRA signals on an 8-km tunnel? or a would it need a bigger cable such as a 1-1/4″? Thanks!

Hello colleague, I suggest you make a linkbudget since the losses of the radiant coax are greater than those of the regular ones due to their intrinsic leakage design. You can take advantage of the tool to do it in a didactic way and the more real your digital model is in terms of the critical variables, the better results you will have. Greetings!
