iBwave Design Enterprise Network Planning

ABOUT THE CERTIFICATION PROGRAM

What is the iBwave Certification Program?

The iBwave Certification Program (iCP) provides active learning to facilitate best practices using the iBwave Product Suite. It gives students the opportunity to validate and master the latest design techniques from conception to deployment using our product suite and gives them industry recognized credentials that increase their value in the marketplace.

Who should get certified?

iBwave’s Certification Program for iBwave Design and iBwave Public Safety is designed for wireless and radio system designers, radio network engineers, radio network planners, RF specialists and consultants, radio access network development specialists and RF managers.

iBwave’s Certification Program for the iBwave Private Networks and the iBwave Mobile Product Suite is designed for cellular private network designers, Wi-Fi designers and field technicians.

The iBwave Certification Program for iBwave Reach is designed for outdoor/indoor RF engineers involved in the planning, designing and validating LTE/5G campus networks.

What are the prerequisites for each iBwave Certification Program?
  • For Level 1 certification, you must be familiar with iBwave Design and DAS deployment – take the quiz and verify your knowledge.
  • For Level 2, you must be Level 1 certified.
  • For Level 3, you must be Level 1 and Level 2 certified.
  • For iBwave Public Safety certification, you must be familiar with Public Safety DAS deployments.
  • For iBwave Private Networks certification, you must be familiar with Wi-Fi and small cell network deployments.
  • For iBwave Mobile product certifications, you must be familiar using Android tablets as well as Wi-Fi and small cell network deployments.
  • For iBwave Reach certification, it is recommended that you be Level 1 and 2 certified or have and equivalent skill set.

Note: An iBwave trial license and learner account will be included for certification purposes. iBwave trial licenses do not run in a virtual environment.

REGISTRATION, EVALUATION & EXAM

How do I register?

Go to our catalog of courses in our Wave Runners Community (community.ibwave.com), select the desired course(s), and pay instantly via Stripe at checkout. Alternatively, reach out to your Sales representative to request a quote.

What is the refund policy?

All iBwave certification courses are non-refundable. For any additional information regarding the terms and conditions, please view our certification policies.

How will I be evaluated and certified?

The certification is evaluated based on a practical exam with a passing grade of 75%.

  • In-Class course: certification exam is completed in class at the end of the 3rd day.
  • Virtual Classroom course: certification exam is done online through Wave Runners in the week following the training.
  • Online course: certification exam is done online through Wave Runners after all self-paced course modules have been completed.
What do I do if I fail the exam?

If you fail the exam, you have the option of retaking it once for a fee. If you fail the retake exam, you will need to attend/follow the course again at full cost.

ABOUT THE CERTIFICATE

When will I receive my certificate?

Expect at least two (2) weeks for assessment, after which your grade will be sent to you via email and, if a passing grade is achieved, your electronic certificate will be available in your Wave Runners account.

How long is my certificate valid for?

The certificate is valid for 3 years from the day that it is issued. After 3 years, you must recertify in order to maintain the validity of your certification status. Please refer to this page to learn more about the recertification process:

MATERIAL & SOFTWARE

Do we have access to an electronic copy of the student manual?

An online manual is included in Wave Runners (under the Material tab) for most certification courses. When included, it is available for 1 year from the date of course enrollment. The electronic manual is not printable or downloadable.

What happens if I don’t have the applicable iBwave license for my laptop, computer or mobile device?

You can contact Training to make arrangements. Note that for the iBwave Reach trial license, there will be some delay in processing because the license is issued through a partner.

What do I need to bring to class or use during my virtual classroom?

You will need a Wi-Fi enabled laptop with an active iBwave software license installed. An appropriate trial license will be provided for the course. iBwave trial licenses are valid for 15 days for in-class course and 20 days for course in Virtual Classroom. For the Reach license, it is preferrable to have an existing concurrent license installed, but a trial license can be requested prior to the start of class, if required. Note that there will be some delay on processing the request for a Reach trial license since it is issued through a partner.

Note: iBwave trial licenses do not run in a virtual environment.

A printed manual is provided on the first day of in-class course and within the week before start of the virtual classroom by courier at the shipping address you provided in your order.

What do I need to use during my online course?

For desktop Applications: You will need a laptop with an appropriate active iBwave software license installed. You may use your own license, or you may request a trial license. Note that if you use your own license, it must be specific to the training and should include all pertinent modules. iBwave trial licenses are valid for 30 days for online courses and must be requested when ready to begin the course by contacting Training.

Note: iBwave trial licenses do not run in a virtual environment.

For mobile Applications: You will need a tablet with an appropriate active iBwave software license installed. You may use your own license, or you may request a trial license. iBwave trial licenses are valid for 30 days for online courses and must be requested when ready to begin the course by contacting Training. Although it is possible to access Wave Runners and the course content from a tablet, it is recommended to have a laptop to follow the course on Wave Runners while using the tablet to perform practice exercises and the final exam.

A printed manual is not included with the online courses but can be purchased separately for most courses. There is no manual available for iBwave Wi-Fi Mobile certification.
